Dreaming in a Technicolor world.

Being the dreamer for so long, I dreamed in fairytales. I was sure as a kid that my life would be a Disney movie. A Technicolor world that always ends in “happily ever after…” My mission in life was to conquer my dream. As I got older more and more of my innocence was taken. My beautiful world filled with imagination and excitement became far-fetched. The color faded away.

            Love began to feel just as exhausting as work. Where were the fireworks filled kisses and a tummy filled with butterflies? Where was love at first sight and where was my Prince Charming. For a while I gave up looking. Connections, understanding and integrity didn’t seem to exist. It was as if I was asking too much.

            My inspiration in life suffered. I was facing having to find enough love for myself to be okay. I started to deal with the understanding that I may be alone for the rest of my life. The goal in my practice was to be okay with that. The work in bettering myself was much harder. What happened to the dream of love?

            Through experience I learned that people would be sent into your life to learn from. We meet people that teach us lessons and guide us to developing confidence enough to break cycles. What do you really want in a partner? What do you want out of love? What will you stand for? True love can be found when your head and heart join as one. The butterflies are the waiting for him to reach for your hand because you know you can’t make the first move. Destiny is a boy playing your favorite band when you get in the car. Not knowing it’s your favorite. When you get lost in a beautiful view together waiting for the first kiss. The fireworks explode when lips meet.

            By keeping the question alive and honoring it, the stepping-stones of your journey will show you the way. Through our baby steps we meet people without expectation or want. By doing the work to better you. The law of attraction and divine timing collide. Slowly you open your eyes to a Technicolor world.

            For a moment I gave up on my Prince Charming. But I was born to dream. I believe in fairytales, destined lovers, and soul mates with my whole heart. To me, two lovers meeting is nothing unless it has already been written. The familiarity in his eyes will be the dot that marks home. So don’t give up on buried treasure if you still don’t know who you are. Cinderella, Snow White, Tinkerbell, and Ariel live within each of us. Technicolor is a choice.
